Cook County’s Second Installment for 2022 Property Tax Bills Set to Be Released November 1st, Due December 1st
The Cook County Treasurer announced that the second installment of Cook County’s 2022 property tax bills is expected to be released to the public online and by mail by Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Once the invoices are received, taxpayers will have one month to pay their bills before the expected due date of Friday, December 1, 2023.
Following closely behind the December due date, taxpayers can expect the first installment of 2023 bills to be released in the spring of 2024. Depending on the release date, payments may be due at the beginning of March, the historical due date for the bills, or early April, which is in line with last year’s due date.
This is the third consecutive year that second installment bills will be delayed, with the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, a historically slow Assessor’s Office appeal cycle and an overhaul of the tax system’s digital platform causing delays across the board. Read more here.
